Japanese Tiger from Supertest

Hello warriors,

it is known that this year will bring the Japanese branch of heavy tanks. Wargaming decided to go the "easy" way and introduced a new Japanese premium heavy early on - but it's not a Japanese vehicle, it's actually a Japanese Tiger. Is it historical? Yep. One Tiger was sold to Japan - it was to be transported disassembled but it never made its way to the Japanese mainland. In the game, it's simply a tier 6 Tiger. This vehicle does NOT have limited MM.

    1. Well I might argue with that ;)

    2. ive heard rumours that tier 6 heavy penetration may be nerfed so 132 pen wont look so bad then if things like the t-150 and kv-85 get pen of roughly 150 to 160 although this may not happen.

    3. Well its tier 6 so i disagree

    4. What? It's basically a better VK 36.01 H, same armament but better side armor (probably a bit slower though).

What is this thing with whining all the time, never understood that...

    5. VK 36.01 H has exactly the same hull armor as the Tiger 1 ;)

    6. Sure. Just like how people said that no one would buy the Panther 88 when WG said that it wouldn't get pref MM. All those Panther 88's I see must be a mirage.

    7. DEANO GTO, that's sound like BS or very bad joke. Nerfing HT T6 gun pen? Most of that gun's on many other tanks, some of them even not HT, that's just stupid, WG not THAT stupid.

  2. Im suddenly very interested in the Japanese heavies :D (i have always wanted a tier 6 tiger although its dpm may need to get a little higher because 132 pen and 220 alpha vs is-3s? your gonna need a lot of shots and you wont be very quick like a vk3002d as an example with the same gun)

    1. You do realize that we are talking about Tier 6 and not Tier 7?

    2. vs is-3s ?

Yes, it can meet them but you are not supposed to fight them. ...all the time.

    3. Bugii, riiiiiight, so when some STRONK tank which will be higher than your tank by two levels attacks you, just do nothing because "you are not supposed to fight them...all the time".

    5. Hmm.. in case of a IS3 overmatching the turret roof should still work, and with that ROF it likely also can permatrack most enemies. It has potential...

  3. pff.. idk, at some point it's starting to get ridiculous about tank clones in the game

    1. well look at it this way. a japanese tiger will have absolutely crazy camo (dat navy blue/orange desert camo) and your crew will sound like a mecha pilot anime character. XD

  4. Armour is most likely 100/82/82 on turret and hull, looks like the usual mainstream Tiger H.

  5. i hope they leave it in its german national colour because i dont think the green of japan would suit a tiger very well.

    1. idk. like i was saying to tronicson above, that blue desert camo might look frickin awesome on a tiger. :P

  7. err... it is COMPLETELY a clone, not even the japanese color or any change of the tiger WHAT SO EVER, dissapointing to say the least, T55A is a cool looking clone, this..... is just a tiger...... OH, THAT IS WHAT IT IS, A TIGER! WG: "If it makes money it is okay!"

    1. Dude, how do you know about the color of that vehicle?
This is ONLY the model without texture as clearly visable...

    2. Why are people so toxic? Cool down, how emotional can you get over an item in a computer game?

      Delete
    3. Toxic? Because some people care whats going on. Just an "item" in a "computer game".

    4. Just a Tiger i love the Tiger.

    1. you realize it has no texture (that includes paint jobs) applied on it at the moment, don't you?

  9. Historical Tiger fanboys, here it is your beloved tank!
To drive it, you need a Japanese crew!

Now, jokes aside, I might really buy this thing...I like everything from VK36.01H up to E-100, why shouldn't I also like this thing?

    1. If it has anywhere near the mobility of the Tier 7 Tiger, yeah, could be a fun tank.

    2. I myself want to get this tank or i am really considering it.

  10. Gun looks a tad weak, but frankly 132 pen really isn't that bad for tier 6. Not GOOD mind you, but really not bad. Certainly its workable. The armor might actually work reasonably well at tier 6. It would be interesting to see a "historical" tiger that, once in a blue moon, feels like its well armored.

    1. But it realy good gun for T6 MT, well it was, not there is only VKP can have it. Ah, sweet memories about VK 30.01(H) as T6 MT...
T-34-88, i believe... someday we will meet.

  12. This better be bloody unique and not just a copy paste Tiger, its gotta have loads of shovels, rifles and helmets on it, be a bit beat up have unique camo pattern and bamboo cover.

Its gotta be awesome like Fury Easy Eight otherwise its the middle finger to WG

    ReplyDelete
  13. So, it's basically a better version of the VK3601H. What was that "premium tanks are worse than regular vehicles" -rule again?

    1. This thing isn't going to have the option to mount a 157-pen gun.

Its also a lot fatter and easier to hit.

...actually I'm not seeing what's better about this thing.

      Delete
    2. its also much less mobile, its not better than the VK at all

    3. it is not going in the german tree so, yes.

      Delete
  14. I can see buying it, as a tier six it should be fairly reasonably priced, and it will train crews for upcoming Japanese heavies. Plus, at tier 6, the L/56 isn't a bad gun to deal with. Yes, it will have a hard time with IS-3s and IS-6s, but it is a tier six heavy, its primary job isn't to fight tier eights.

    ReplyDelete
  15. FU WG for making this Japanese; I would have paid 5,000 gold for this in the German tech tree but now you get ZERO!

    ReplyDelete
  16. ...well, it rly could be an interesting piece (for a mid tier premium tank; that gun is ok), if they dont f* it (like 16 deg/s turret traverse or -5 gun depression), i think i would buy it..

    ReplyDelete
  17. One thing worth noting. Look at the suspension, and the commanders hatch.
This is going to be one of the early/mid production Tigers.

Real shame the japanese gets it though. A clone it might be, but I would have loved an early-model Tiger at tier 6 as a counter piece to the "Fury".

  18. The fuck is with all these premiums?

  19. Cheap ... cheaper ... Wargaming.

    /facepalm

  20. What happen to the other Premium tiger with L56 for germans at tier 7 but with uber DPM and 1700hp? What's next? stock turret premium tiger at tier 5?

    LOL

  22. So it would see Shermans often like nature intended. (Granted Fireflys, jumbos and easy eights, but still)

    ReplyDelete
  23. looks pretty good for a tr6 imo.

  24. Interesting choice. May even get one, simply to have a trained crew ready whenever they release the main tech tree.

  25. Yes, please. I'd love to have a premium Tiger in the historical configuration.
