Armored Warfare: Message from the Developers

Hello Warriors,

The Developers from Armored Warfare have a message for us:

And I have a message for them, in particular the ones that perform job interviews: GGWP for having some of the most beautiful girls I've see working for game companies. This video doesn't show many of them but mamma mia they are gorgeous!

Cant wait to meet some of them in October...  *insert donger face here*

13.9.2015 Q&A

Storm is currently assembling the feedback on the new motion

- artillery and TD's cannot make "police turns" (U-turns) in new physics, this is intentional. Veider (chief WG balancer) states that it would really suck to be pursuing some faster arty only for it to make a handbrake turn and shoot you. This is not something related to skill - the artillery would by this maneuver lose so much accuracy (aim circle size would be enormous) that any such hit would be pure RNG (which is not what the developers want). Such cases would be rare anyway but with hundreds of thousands of battles each day, it might actually become a problem.
- there are player complaints that in the new motion physics, tanks are losing too much speed on steep slopes - this is intentional so that players don't get to places they aren't supposed to. The inertia on steep slopes (40 degrees or so and more) is artificially limited
- the issue above cannot be instead solved by invisible walls, players hate them
- Storm states that faster going uphill (compared to current state) is not something the developers want to implement in new motion physics
- Storm confirms that the parameters of all the vehicles were already reworked for new motion physics system
- new motion physics does put more load on servers than usual. Many features (more accurate calculations) therefore had to be scrapped, there's no server capacity reserve.
-  there is a very high probability that the server hull swinging in new motion physics will be removed.
- the main feature of new motion physics is the removal of tanks getting stuck. Tanks are still getting stuck - but much less.
- the new motion physics cannot be too different from the old one for the players, it would break the gameplay
- nobody promised to increase "gravity force": the fact that in new motion physics the tanks are slipping down the slope as soon as they stop is intentional (they don't feel like stuck to the surface). There was a part about "gravity increase" in the supertest leaks but Storm reacts on this as such: "Don't read supertest leaks. Seriously. Without knowing the context you will make up all sorts of crap with this 'increased gravity' - gravity is right now on the test the same as on live server."
- in the physics test, when one tank drives onto another, only the tank on top loses hitpoints, this is a bug and it will be fixed
- Storm confirms that a vehicle tipped on its side and roof will not only die (countdown is the same as in drowning - 30 seconds in this case) but also cannot shoot. There is a possibility devs will add a function to tip the tank back on its tracks (if tipped on the side) but in any case, tipping will lead to destruction and the not-shooting part is also intentional, tanks tipped on the side or roof and shooting would be unrealistic.
- Himmelsdorf has several artificial walls in order for players not to jump off cliffs (mostly around the mountain), this is intentional ("there's enough stupid stuff in the game as it is")
- more realistic inertia system (side inertia, tanks sliding more etc.) the way it was tested earlier was removed because it had very negative impact on the game
- so far the feedback on the new motion physics is very positive

Tiger I new Camouflage

Hello Warriors,

this is the new camouflage for the Tiger I:

The lack of geekiness (figures, posters, etc) in the RU office alarms me... specially compared to the the office from Fractured Space  that I had the opportunity to visit which its a geek heaven. They have so much in there that the CEO just gifted me the starter kit with 3 different faction ships from Star Trek Attack Wing Miniature Game (To join the Borg Cube I have as decoration for my bedroom).

Reworked Siegfried Gif.

Hello Warriors,

One of you, Topias Koskela (thank you sir!) made a gif. of the reworked Siegfried:

Stalin Line Q&A

Hello warriors,

Storm and SerB visited the meeting with players on the Stalin Line in Belarus and answered a whole bunch of questions. Here are the answers from them.

- SerB was against artillery nerf, he is also against reworkingthe artillery to "debuff" class. According to him, the loss of the artillery role that makes players being less static will lead to more camping. Storm disagrees.
- according to Storm, the artillery nerf actually helped but now two problems emerged: too much randomness and the artillery considered to be useless
- SerB confirms tier 10+ tanks, no ETA or details apart from the fact these will not be "regular tanks" and won't be sold for gold. They will appear in a new, interesting mode.Introducing tier 12 tanks doesn't mean those tanks will be modern contemporary vehicles (RG: there were some talks about Object 279
- SerB's personal winrate on his secret account is around 53 percent
- players will be more involved in the development of the changes to the game, like it was in the case of Domination

Storm Stream Q&A

Hello warriors,

here's a big Q&A from recent official WG stream with Storm

- Storm confirms the upcoming artillery overhaul. The biggest problem with current artillery system is its randomness - this should be mitigated by turning artillery into "debuffers" (see previous article - smaller alpha but applying crew debuffs)
- WG is planning the same artillery features as in AW: players will be able to see that they are being fired at by arty - and they will also see where roughly is the arty firing from
- current version of new motion physics in testing is much closer to the final model than the previous test was, now the focus is on testing whether the new physics don't stress the servers too much. If there are no problems, it is very likely that this variant will appear on live server
- developers are working and will continue to work on optimization so the game keeps its performance when new HD features are added. The clientside is almost completely reworked and has nothing to do with original Bigworld
- currently MM is not working perfectly, WG knows about the issue where for example one team has one tier 10 and the other has five. It will be fixed. The issue where one player plays the same maps over and over again will also be fixed.
- there are plans for new tanks for a couple of years ahead - the closest new branch is Czechoslovak. Each patch will bring a couple of special (event) and premium tanks too.
- developers will add multiturret mechanism, multigun mechanism and amphibious tanks, maybe even wheeled vehicles
- there are ideas to completely overhaul the crew system in WoT to resemble the one in WoWs (one "crew"). At the same time the perks and skills will be reworked to add gameplay variety
- currently, maneuverability and armor of tanks are inferior in importance to firepower, devs plan to change that by increasing maneuverability (new physics) and penetration nerfs
- historical battles are not scrapped and will return in PvE form. First PvE will come in the form of new tutorial.
- new modes and gameplay are represented by Domination, it is almost ready
- the implementation of "saying thank you" to good players (as the opposite of reports for bad ones) depends on how well will this feature do in WoWs
- XP for tanking will come soon
- developers are still working on Havok but it stresses player PC's and servers too much
- it's possible tanks with tier 11 and higher will appear
- developers will continue to fight illegal mods and bots
