03/11/2015 Q&A

- Official reason for the 9.12 patch is that the 9 11 numbers are associated with the 9/11 terror attack in New York, that is why it was decided to call the patch 9.12
- Developers decided to scrap the 10.0 update because of the overwhelmingly negative player feedback
- Wargaming's near future plans are based on the wishes of players
- It's too early to say whether the Paris map will appear in random battles as well
- It's not yet sure when patch 9.12 will come
- T23E3 buff will come in 9.12
- Viktor Kisly still plays World of Tanks
- FV4202 was replaced by Action X because it was unhistorical and therefore it was replace by the Centurion with improved protection
- The "bonus for decals" 10.0 system was not cancelled, it will undergo an overhaul and will return
- Developers are working on removing the map tiering for experienced players, this will come in one of the upcoming patches
- Chieftain will "fill another important role" (than replacing FV215b), it will come "when its time comes"
- Player polls (players answering and telling their opinion on various WG questions) will not be implemented to the game: "In the game players should play, not answer"
- It's possible some T-22sr. missions will be reworked, but overall the missions for it will come
- There will be HD tanks in 9.12
- Artillery overhaul will not come anytime soon, it's not a matter that should be rushed
- FV4202 will be removed for now and will return as a premium later
- It is still planned to change the render square to circle in 9.12

WZ-111 HD Model update

Hello Warriors,

as I promised in the comment section, got my investigating feet on the odd WZ-111 HD model and got an answer today.

But first let me explain everything:

When I was doing screenshots of the WZ-111 in HD I've noticed the huge gun difference and checked straight ahead the latest WZ-111 modules and statistics but there were no changes made to the tank which was very weird as the model in Sketchfab has been added 2 weeks ago.

Then I started thinking... if its the premium WZ-111 and the gun stats haven't changed to such a massive difference between SD and HD then it could be the WZ-111 model 1-4 with the WZ-111 turret.
Its usual for WG to miscall their tank names, I never bothered to write about that on the blog as its not of importance and because I always make sure to privately give them a nudge and to be honest both tanks are extremely similar, it would have been a understandable mistake.

BUT even the WZ-111 model 1-4 guns don't coincide with the gun shown on Sketchfab.
The gun has the muzzle of the stock 100 mm 62-100T but the length of the 130 mm 59-130T of the WZ-111 model 1-4.

I hit a dead end so contacted MrConway, a new Community Manager for EN/EU to get a hold of the right persons and apparently I was indeed right to pressure on this matter.

Basically what happened is that its the right tank, the WZ-111, but during assembly the tank had 4 guns available and the wrong one was applied accidentally, but only on Sketchfab.
WG has thanked and it will be fixing it.

I will make sure to share with you once is fixed if the official screenshots don't come earlier.

Also, thanks for your guidance in the comment section, it always helps. :)

Vital Intel: New Patch Name and Features

Hello Warriors,

The Wargaming's CEO Victor Kislyi has given this message:

"Dear Commanders,

We’d like to thank you for your continued support of the game. The amount of passionate feedback we have been receiving from you, about the upcoming version, is showing us once more how invested you all are in the future of World of Tanks.

Community feedback is crucial for us in making the best gaming experience possible. Your responses on update 10.0 “Rubicon” have shown us loud and clear that we will not meet all your expectations for the upcoming version. You all have spoken, so we have made major changes to our upcoming version plan.

In accordance with the adjusted plans, the next version will be relabelled 9.12 and introduce the following features:

  • The new game mode Rampage. The mode was developed over the last several months and tested by you. Rampage introduces features such as the ability to respawn, multi-team battles, and multiple tanks per battle for Tier VIII–X;
  • The gas cloud mechanic from Rampage mode has been removed;
  • New improved viewing mechanics, a PvE tutorial and the new British Tier X medium tank Centurion Action X is replacing the FV4202;
  • New interface for tank customization. The crew bonus system for tank emblems and inscriptions was removed from the upcoming update upon analyzing its performance and gathering feedback during public tests.
  • These are just a few of the core features of 9.12. The full list of new content and gameplay elements coming in 9.12 will be unveiled soon.

We are truly thankful for your honest feedback and constructive criticism, and apologize for overpromising on 10.0 “Rubicon” and changes to the schedule. Together, we will improve your gameplay experience.

Thank you again for your continued support,"
- Victor Kislyi and the Wargaming Team
