AMX 13 57 WGL Camo not removable

What's next? Sponsor trademarks?

I kid you not, the European Wargaming portal just announced that the AMX 13 57 Wargaming League camo wont be removable and it's impossible to add inscriptions, emblems or camouflage patterns to it. However, they are giving you for free and by default the 5% camouflage bonus.

I don't think free camo bonus is worth looking like a pariah, but hey, if that is your fetish go ahead and order that Leopard/Tiger t-shirt too!

This is bad marketing, the tank is good but very little part of the community is actually interested in WGL. It reminds me of Google forcing Google+ down our throats, but in this case we don't have to take it and I personally lost any interest in acquiring this tank. No Rita moneys for Serb Space program this time.

15.04.2015 Q&A

Here it is:

- Storm confirms: the Super Pershing HD model that was used in 9.7 testing is not final because it is not correct (specifically, the additional plate angles are not). The finalized version will be available in 9.8. The frontal armor will be buffed (especially due to more favorable angles of the spaced armor plates);
- The fact that you can't bind some keys to various functions in WoT is "old Bigworld issue", developers simply didn't have the time to fix that;
- SU-26 will not have its old elite gun returned, it will be buffed only slightly;
- The model where gun damage doesn't depend on gun's caliber but on its tier only was not even considered;
- Storm does not have a VK account (so any VK posts by him are fake) and is not responsible for various PR events (or bonus codes);
- Wargaming is currently reworking artillery by testing "four additional artillery game mechanics" (not sure what makes it to the game);
- SerB is fine, he is not talking about WoT much anymore because he oversees ALL the Wargaming projects;
- The HD IS-4 armor is fine, was not nerfed: the frontal armor angle changed by only like half a degree, the roof weakspot got 20 percent smaller (surface-wise), the hole behind the mantlet got smaller;
- Putting is a new HD model into a patch is quite difficult. In 9.7 test, the testing department was overloaded by finding and fixing the bugs in the new Big World version;
- WoT has "completely different" audience than GTA 5 according to Storm;
- Storm on how good AAA projects look (specifically GTA 5): "There's nothing new innovation- and idea-wise. It's simply well done, as far as I could see. That's the power of good projects - they don't have to be especially innovative, they have to be well made."
- There is currently no progress on "map matchmaker" (that would not put you 10 times on the same map in a row) - "nothing for now, there will be fixes but not soon";
- Some players calculated that with current rework speed, it will take WG five years to rework all the vehicles to HD. Storm states that it will be faster;
- If you completed any individual mission before the 9.8 changes, you will still have them completed. If you did not, you will still have them incomplete even if you previously completed the conditions for the new "easier" version;
- The individual mission where you have to scout and your platoon mates do the damage will be changed.

Redshire changes on supertest

Hello warriors,

Redshire was changed in supertest like this - the areas 1 and 2 were raised to become hills now.

This is Artillery - WG Unlisted Video

Hello warriors,

back in February, Wargaming decided to make a "This is Artillery" video. It's hidden, you can access it only via direct link... it was never released to public, for obvious reasons. Check it out:

Armored Warfare: The Sheridan Story Part 3

The third and last part of the Sheridan Story is now available at Armored Warfare:

So far I'm enjoying this light reads a lot, gonna post bellow the previous parts if you haven't seen yet.

David Fletcher's Tank Chats #4

The Tank Museum just uploaded a new video with the best historian grandpa, David Fletcher MBE.
This time he talks about the Vickers Armstrongs Type E:

Have to confess, I like to play David Fletcher talking about tanks on my mobile as a lullaby to fall asleep. And before I get misunderstood, it's not because is boring, I do it for the exact opposite reason.

RU server gets a free day of premium

Hello warriors,

RU server does get a free day of premium during their history event. It goes like this: RU server has this initiative called Pomnim vse ("Remember everything") where they do a lot of interesting stuff regarding the Russian (Soviet) history. Amongst other things, they:

- create and promote historical awareness, historical articles and such
- collect volunteers to clean up historical sites, museums, parks and such
- make interviews with WW2 veterans (not only Russian ones, but also Polish, Czechoslovak and German)

It's all naturally very "proud to be Russian" (patriotic) but overall it is a very good initiative. As a part of it, if you log in to their site (using WG RU ID) and share/repost/tweet (or something) the news about the site, you will get a freed day of premium. Not bad!

Unfortunately, due to the absence of such a program on EU, it's almost certain we will get no such thing.

Micropatch today (EU, 15.4.2015)

Hello warriors,

today, a micropatch was applied to the EU server (as well as RU). In case you didn't notice from its name (9.6_ GrandFinal), it added the special WGL hangar to the game.

RU and EU discounts disconnected

Hello warriors,

looks like the EU and RU tier 10 discounts are disconnected again, as the second half of the month Russian tier 10 discount (Batchat artillery) is different from the one we have (Object 263). No more guessing :)

It's a shame that we don't get to know the discounts for the whole month in advance, would help the players plan they credit spendings better.

9.7 ETA

Hello warriors,

according to Russian leakers, the 9.7 patch is planned for Tuesday, 21.4.2015 (that's for Russian server, but you get the picture).
