Hello warriors,
in case you wondered what Wargaming does with the money from World of Tanks (apart from SerB's space program), here's one of the things. In 2013, WG ordered a building on Cyprus for 20 million Euro. It was supposed to be ready in May 2014, but it is still not finished, although it should be soon. This is how the future building of the company looks now (compared to the project). Its height is 75 meters and the developer claims that the building is very energetically effective.
So here goes our money instead of into development? :D
ReplyDeleteNot sure if kidding or idiot
DeleteWell... they're developing land...
Delete@Sv_Ahhhmed
DeleteKidding. (idiot? bad guy :) )
But investing into better servers wouldn't hurt.

DeleteWatch that, WG didnt bleed much from that building.
It's perfectly normal for them to expand (I would do that if possible) but people ALWAYS complain.
DeleteSome of them want things done instantly, but they don't have clue how it's done. My advice to those guys, if you can do it better, DO IT. If not then don't whine how it's supposed to be done
@sv_Ahhhmed
DeleteBut there are people that do it better. Take a look at the other game companies out there, many of them manage weekly updates, hotfixes and actually get things done in a reasonable time frame. The most important thing in my eyes is not taking 3 months to put in a fix even if they finished it in a week due to not understanding the concept of a hotfix.
Really if wargaming had to actually compete i have a feeling they would fall flat, wargaming is currently a monopoly and doesn't have to worry about competition so they get away with a lot more that other game companies wouldn't. The only reason it's not pointed out is currently they have pretty much the only released game in the niche of "arcade semi realistic tank battles"
They will have Happy Hour, with Dancing Girls every evening at 5 P.M
DeleteSerb will have a Special Suite on the Top Floor.
Developers also need offices to work, they cannot do it on the street.
ReplyDeleteSuch building for 20mil.. not too much actually.
I was allways wondering, what are they doing in Cyprus, if all development in Minsk?
ReplyDeleteLess taxes
DeleteActually WG begin in Cyprus.
Delete20 million? Seriously? Looks much more expensive to me
ReplyDeletein case you wondered what Wargaming does with the money from World of Tanks (apart from SerB's space program)...
ReplyDeletePeoples in WG aren't very smart. Nerf ALL Russia tanks, after they do that a lot of players will kick SerB(+ some other peoples) into the space for free. After they do that buff them to pre-nerf stats. Money for space program saved. How simple. (ツ)
Another sign that WG intends for their bread to land butter-side up if worse comes to worse in international relations...
ReplyDeleteIt was supposed to be ready in May 2014, but it is still not finished, although it should be soon.
ReplyDelete// hahahaha CLASSIC WG :D
do they still work out the bugs?
Legendary stuff right there
DeleteI guess they need a place to hide from their pissed fans +g+
DeleteThe obligatory "OMG! WG should first fix _______" comments to follow in 3.. 2.. 1..
ReplyDeleteHa-ha-ha... buck you.
DeleteI seem to recall SilentStalker mentioning that WG's decision to HQ in Cyprus was largely a financial one. If you want to lower your tax burden, find a country that'll tax you at the lowest rate possible and allow you to write off the cost of your headquarter building as a capital expense.
ReplyDelete$20 million is nothing for a building that's designed specifically to optimize your company operations.
That first render makes it look like a high tech dustbin, lid on top and everything :)
ReplyDeletethat means WGs customer Support will be more out of touch than they are now :)
ReplyDeletehope their building has as many bugs and problems as their stupid game does..
ReplyDelete-Walk in front doors. Doors won't open have to go in through side door down 2 floors.
- Elevators will take you to any floor except the first one you pushed
- Toilets on each odd floor fill the water fountains on each even floor. Urinals on each even floor supply drinking water to odd numbered floors.
- SerBs office has a reactor.. because we always have room for another reactor.
- Development offices are in the lower parkade. Parking stalls are conveniently located on floor 15-16 with no access to vehicles.
Hahahahaha, this was one of the best replies on here...ever...
Delete-It was supposed to be ready in May 2014, but it is still not finished, although it should be soon.
ReplyDeleteThat about sums up every major project wargaming every attempted in world of tanks.
Should be stronk like the rest of WG's buildings; drive an E-100 into it and even the wooden porch won't suffer a dent.
ReplyDeleteOh the poor guys that have to clean those windows 😭😂😭
ReplyDeleteWG don't do rain.
Deletelol so you still gotta clean them or else after a year or two they get stained and become 10x harder to clean
DeleteAnyone else notice that there are 10 office levels? 10 tiers if you will.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how in this place can get some work ??? :)
ReplyDeleteas for example a tester for the game or something :)
ReplyDeleteShouldn't it be bigger as it goes up, not smaller? How else will Serbs head fit in?
ReplyDeleteSoon TM
ReplyDeleteSince 2013? I'm sure that it's just a coincidence that The Avengers, which featured Stark Tower, came out in 2012.

Nicely rendered building by the way, hopefully it will be build with the material and the knowledge of todays best, not with a single core architectural program that just can simulate good weather or snow. Perhaps they consider it can fall into small pieces or did they just use the same paper most of our ingame houses are made of.
ReplyDeleteSo this is where they soon going to be nerfing tanks and launching rockets to Serbs moonbase?
ReplyDeleteI believe the correct term is actually "energy efficient".
