  1. Is it just me, or they fail miserably at actually hitting the targets?

    3. If you pay really close attention, all of those shots are going straight through the targets and hitting the dirt on the other side. The velocity of the shell is so fast that it punches through the target without much resistance. Its kinda like that tablecloth trick. If you pull the table cloth out from under a bunch of plates fast enough, the plates will all stay in place.

    4. They are not failing/missing the targets. The projectile passes through the target but because its filmed from an angle you see it as if they miss it, which they dont.

  3. Some questions:

    1. Why they are with desert coloures? Where they are going? ( after they learn how to shoot, of course :) )
    2. M1A1 sound is too low, compare to russian tanks, specially the engine. Is it specially instted noise protection, or just it is not noisy at all?

    1. And why not? it's firing exercise, not combat.

    2. Engine is a "multi-fuel turbine engine" not a typical diesel.

    3. Video sounds have nothing to do with real sounds

Sound relies heavily on microphone quality, distance etc etc when recording

And then your speakers/headphones matter when playing it back

Only thing you can do with a video is compare if you get both M1A1 and some "russian tanks" in the same video because the mic will be equally good/bad for both.

  7. 1: Those shells hit pretty much where they are needed... They are shooting at plates and you are watching from the side so when you see shells missing it's because they are penetrating the plates and continue...
2: Also the sound is very muffled due to distance (zoom lenses) and maybe the technical challenge of microphones and loud noises...

  8. Looks like very unrealistic.

  9. I'd be very interested to see where those silver darts land and what they look like after.

    1. Would they not be using training ammo? Real ammo would be extremely expansive.

    2. The M865 cartridge is a kinetic energy, target practice round for use with the 120mm smoothbore M256 cannon. It is designed to simulate the M829-series APFSDS-T service round characteristics at reduced maximum ranges to allow practice firings on short-range proving grounds and training areas. (Still a silver dart.)
