02.04.2015 Q&A

Here it is:

- Developers could technically add pretty small object destruction based on Havok (like fences, smaller objects as such, not buildings), but the problem is that after the introduction of this feature, people would immediately whine that buildings are not destructible. That is why the developers want to introduce the realistic destruction all at once;
- Its possible that we won't have to wait too long for multicore support but there is no clear ETA yet;
- The modding system in WoT is too clunky - is that a problem? Storm: "We are not dealing with that. We are currently overloaded a lot by the development of new features, we don't have time for that :(";
- It was not yet decided whether the players will be able to hide their statistics;
- The dynamic UI resize is apparently not working on the 9.7 test, it will be fixed;
- Roaming was basically shelved indefinitely;
- Regarding the second heavy tank French heavy tank, it doesn't look very well, the developers have not yet decided whether it's something the game needs as the candidates for it all have paper armor;
- Same goes for potential Soviet "Waffentrager" line (SU-152P and such, ending with SU-152 "Taran") - powerful guns and no armor are perhaps not what the game needs;
- Regarding the implementation of modern tanks in WoT, Storm states that better solution would be to make an entirely separate project with different mechanics (ATGM and such);
- Tetrarch's gun was not nerfed;
- Artillery fire support before the battle starts on some maps will remain (RG: Pitty);
- The blocking of the "Windows" key (that minimizes the game) will be implemented the same way it is in WoWp now;
- Font size in hangar will be made bigger;
- Spall liner does not work like additional armor layer;
- Fury and Hellcat transmission will be reworked in order not to burn (when it's done it's done);
- Erlenberg assault mode is okay statistically - there is a difference, but it's less than 5 percent, so for now it will not be reworked;
- No individual mission related plans to matchmaker are planned;
- The Jagdmaus was considered but the developers forgot about it;
- Storm confirms that there are plans for some new random modes;
- Battles with a single tier 10 on each side and the rest of the team consisting of tier 8's only are not a bug according to Storm, they can happen.

    2. I believe he means two tier ten tanks coming from the same tier nine, just like the Obj. 140 and the T-62A both come from the T-54 instead of having their own separate branches.

  3. I'm not sure the Jagdmaus translation is correct...

    The word is probably not "forgot" but something along the lines of :
    "- The Jagdmaus was considered but the developers dropped the idea; "

    The original translation would imply that they brainstormed the idea, did some work, then sort of...forgot where they put it, or forgot that they did it.
    WG is not the most competent, but I'm sure they don't simply forget that they did something :p

    1. While I believe that you are correct. It is quite possible that they forgot to put the Jagdmaus in the work schedule, so it sits on a shelf forgotten until now.

    Why pitty ? Why don't you like it? I think it's pretty nice.

    Also, disappointed by the JagdMaus and Taran, two of the most epic vehicles we could still get.

  5. What about matches where one team has 7-8 more tier 10s than the other team?
    5-15 defeat is not uncommon

    3. I agree with Vladimir. Stats aren't the be all end all, but they are useful in determining whether you should play aggressively or defensively.

    5. I would love to be able to hide my stats, they are good as far as i am concerned but you always get these people that find a way to try and insult you with them, i do not let it affect me but its just annoying when they try to.

      And also the only time people use the stats on their team is when they either want to insult all the tomato players, or quit early when the game says they have a 22% chance to win, either way they are losing more when they quit early rather then staying to get damage.

      I have picture bouncing around in my pc somewhere where i had a 22% or close to chance to win and my team dominates the enemy and we only lose like 4 tanks or so, people either do not try as hard when XVM says they have a 88% chance to win, then they are surprised when the enemy fights back and starts winning.

      As far as i am concerned its where people go that tells me if i have a chance of wining or not, i go to places with least players to defend or buff a attack route, me looking at what their stats say does not help me in the slightest with RNG in game.

    6. I would like to hide my good stats so I can't be focused down. It also means that other player . can't read a team. Other players also have to respect you, usually if you see a 35%players you might think about pulling a fast one.if that's hidden , then you might think twice about trying to pull a fast one because they might be a 60% player avoiding the xvm sniping.

      But let's be honest most people just want stats so they can bathe in their own self gratifying glory. You can argue this and that for stats but it is certainly the #1 plauge to the game and causes nothing but a toxic environment. Of course no other game really has the in game stats problem Except WOT and they seem to be better off without

    7. Xvm targeting by red arty is the worst. Say what you want about avoiding arty, when the cross hair is on your tank the entire game you will have a crappie game regardless if you move out of cover or not. Xvm sniping by arty is the number one reason why good players hate arty more than the average joe.

    1. People accidentaly hit in in-game and the client minimizes. On WoWp seems that is blocked so if you press it nothing happens. Then if you want to go to desktop you must press alt+tab

    No, the game needs powerful guns and powerful armor and insane camo when it comes to soviet TDs.

    What's wrong with it ?
    Apart from the fact that in can destroy those 2 remaining trees that left in the map after it was "reworked", it's a nice visual feature.

  11. I actually had that artillery fire land on my tank once at the start of the match. It didn't do any damage, but it sure scared the bejeebus out of me. It was on the Kharkov map.

    Well, like AW right? So they have ideas for modern tanking game? World of Modern Tanks. Only if they enlarge maps. I want the idea of driving on a big map, not a sandbox with modern tanks. Like Battlefield 3. That would be a nice tanking game...

    1. I would love it if they added modern tanks to WoT, like a garage swap kind of thing where you switch between the normal garage and tech tree, to a modern garage and tech tree that would be separate from the other tanks and tech tree.

      I mean i want to and probably will play both WoT and AW but if WG had modern tanks there would be no need for me to, and i would stay with just WoT and in the long term they would make more money from me atleast so something for them to think about.

    1. It means your client wont be suddenly sent to background (and lose controll of your tank) when you accidentally press windows key instead of your "z" or shift or alt or whatever anymore in the future update. i think.
