Armata Moving

Hello warriors,

it's a widely known fact that during this year's end of WW2 anniversary parade in Moscow, new Russian main battle tank will be shown to the public - the T-14 Armata. In last days, various leaked pictures of this vehicle were filling the internet, as the first vehicles of this kind are being transported around in preparation of the ceremony. Here's a first glimpse of the Armata MBT though, driving around. Notice the seven T-80 style roadwheels, the massive hull and the large turret. Yup, this is Armata alright.

  2. Oh look, Russia trying to get back in a dick-waving competition with the USA.

Are you under 30? Are you saddened by the fact that you missed all the fun and excitement of the Cold War?
    Don't worry, it's making an encore !

    2. I would say Russia is trying to defend himself, and that is completely legal. They would be stupid if they dont move forward to protect themselves. But i think this not a topic of this blog^^

Ham-fisted joke about how that mental image makes you hot. Because of the burning sensation in your eyes?
      See what I did there?

Yeah, I'm really lacking panache in my jokes today.
I am bad and I should feel bad :(

    16. Well, I can tell you that 'Murica is doing overkill. No other country has equipment as new as good 'ol 'Murica. That's why Russia is 'updating' their stronk tonkz, aerojetz and shipz,

    1. I was thinking the same exact same when I saw the thumbnail, I was thinking for a second if it was a restored T29 before I read the title.

  6. It's supposed to have an unmanned turret, with the turret control crew member in the hull. Up until two or three years ago Russia was buying all it's range finding and radar electronics from the West. Now that they are unable to buy, how will their home grown electronics industry manage to step up, with only two or so years to develop and manufacture the stuff. Time will tell if they have succeeded. Interesting concept for a modern tank, seems to share alot of ideas with the Israeli Merkava (compare the silhoutte of the two tanks).

    1. Fun fact:
South Korea (top producer of Civil electronics) and Israel (top producer of Military electronics) doesn't sanctioned Russia.
They even said that, they can deliver anything what Russia previously bought from US/EU.

  7. Can't wait on official revelation. That gonna be real tankgasm.

  8. Someday they may even deploy two or three. Should be enough to handle dangerous aggressive enemies like Ukraine and Armenia....(sarcasm)...

  9. From the looks of the tank It will be Russia's first Tank with more than -3.5° gun depression (since T-34-85)
secondly why does it not have exposed suspension? (no side skirts on a modern tank )
    rember the T55 upgraged is a T72 upgraded is a T90
a T62/T64 upgraded is a T80/T80u upgraded is this tank.

    1. First it's still in development to see if the suspension is working properly... Bullshit... They share similar look but that does not mean that they are the same... T-54/55 and T-72 are different tanks that look similar.. The T-90 is a heavily upgraded T-72 hull with a heavily upgraded T-80 turret...
