Berlin Map based on Real Location

Hello warriors,

yesterday, a new map ("Berlin") was leaked. Earlier, there were speculations about the purpose of this map and that it might be a part of some sort of special event for the end of WW2 anniversary. And - it's exactly like that. The map is based on the Brandenburg Gate approach in Berlin. Check this out.

This is the map:

And this is the avenue as it looks today:

The Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor) is one of the well-known German landmarks. It was built in late 18th century and survived unscathed until WW2, when it was heavily damaged in the fighting during the siege of Berlin in 1945. Right after the war, it was the place of a major Allies military parade where the west saw the IS-3 for the first time actually.

    1. Me too! I saw a T-34 and thought 'TAKE A PICTURE!!' and of course when I tried to make the picture, a few garbage containers were in the way and we were already a lot further :(

Luckily though, I went to the Munster tank museum the same holiday and it was absolutely awesome!

  2. Been there a few times. even before the wall came down. The Furerbunker is one block south of the centre of the map. There is always a few actors dressed in GDR and USSR army uniforms in Pariser Platz by the Brandenbeurg Gate to pose for the tourists. They have taken away the tanks on plinths for some reason.

    1. The Tanks are going to be repaired, repainted and "dressed" for the upcoming 70th Anniversary of the End of Second World War...the same is going to happen to the two gun pieces and the hole "Ehrenmal"....

  3. As I researched Berlin battle sites for RO projects when I was a tester I'm curious how this map turns out and weather they succeed replicating a believable map with all the details as they were when the fighting around the Reichstag took place.

It's a tricky site and no game I know ever succeeded doing a good one even close.
