Wargaming confirmed that IS-3 in HD is coming in 9.8. Here are a couple of screenshots of it to whet your appetite. Keep in mind however that this is an ultra-HD render and the vehicle in the game will not look this good.
Basically what you see on the screens here is high-poly 3D model with textures applied and in-game is low-poly (well, compared to the former, anything is low-poly) optimized for actually running the game.
"This is a "render", not a "model". Even on for graphics optimized PC it will likely take tens of seconds to minutes to render this thing."
Once it's rendered it's done. It takes several hours to render one hour of fullHD video. Once it's rendered, it's done. You are not rendering it every time you wanna watch the movie.
btw, there isnt more polygons on this thing. Just the textures, light and bump mapping are awesome. - something we cannot get in game.
Because Europigs and 'Muripigs have poor computers and all jealous against stronk Russian computers made in China while Europe and America gotta do with Philips and Apple, not exactly stellar performance with either of the two.
Nice marketing WG, really nice! But showing pictures with these UHD renders to players is almost the same as showing an image of a real life IS-3. We won't see that in WOT for ages.
What they really should do is put out the models at the highest definition possible, then offer the option to use lower graphics settings, like every other computer game offers. That way those with the capable computers get to enjoy their eye candy, while those who don't have the computing power can still play the games on lower settings. I don't see the problem with this. Every single other competitive games company does this, including Gaijin. Why can't WarGaming?
I mean, it just makes sense to give the players the ability to set their games up however is best for their own individual computers, good or bad, rather than limiting everyone to the lowest settings for the worst computers. That would be like saying "we have to set the speed limit on the highway to 25mph (40kph), because some people have crappy little scooters that can't go above 25mph." It would make more sense to set the speed limit to 60mph (100kph), so the vast majority of people with normal cars can go a practical speed, and those with crappy scooters can go along at 25mph without bothering those who have better cars.
Sorry if I repeate myself but I have one question about the frontal armor, is buffed or nerfed? Right now even few tier 6-7 can penetrate it and thats the reason I sold it months ago.
:3
ReplyDeleteWhy can't they just give us the option of using these?
ReplyDeletebecause they make a game that russians can play on their calculators. Not a game that is played on actual computers
DeleteIs your PC capable of rendering millions of polygons on thirty models at the same time?

If you want to further know how the process goes, I recommend this article, where Blizzard describes it on Sword:

DeleteThe troll is stronk in this one.
DeleteBugii... interactive 3D scene ain't a movie, every single frame is brand new render.

ReplyDeleteNow THAT is how IS-4's road wheels should have looked like.
